DAY THREE - Thursday 14th March

16:10 - TrustATrader Plate Handicap Chase

I’ve only got one ride on Thursday, GLENGOULY in the Plate. He’s got a good chance, he’ll handle conditions.

I was second on him in Limerick at Christmas on very testing ground and Paul Townend rode him in the Thyestes in Gowran Park, again on very testing ground so conditions here will suit him.

He’s got a live chance in it.

On the Ryanair Chase

Banbridge is drifting and the ground is a bit against him, Stage Star would have his chance and Envoi Allen.

But, the one I like is CAPODANNO. It’s going to be a serious test of stamina, I think for him dropping back in trip, he has a chance of winning this. He was very good over three miles here on Trials day but these ground conditions bring him right into it at this trip.

On the Stayers’ Hurdle

NOBLE YEATS won a slog of a race here on Trials day and with the conditons being testing again he’s the one I’d side with. As for Teauphoo, I don’t think that was much of a hard luck story last year, he just got beat.

My old horse Flooring Porter should be bang in the mix as he’s had a clear run to the Festival this time.

DAY FOUR - Friday 15th March

13:30 -  JCB Triumph Hurdle (Grade 1)

I’ve got a good book of rides on Friday, starting with KARGESE who was a winner for me at the Dublin Racing Festival. It’s looks a very competitive renewal of the Triumph Hurdle but I think we’re bang there.

There’s plenty of Willie’s in there with a chance and Nicky Henderson’s form gives us a chance to get close to Sir Gino.

14:10 - BetMGM County Handicap Hurdle

BIALYSTOK was brought down when going very well at the Dublin Racing Festival at the second last, he could be very well handicapped still.

The way the race will be run on the new course will give him a good chance, he could be an each-way contender in the County Hurdle.

14:50 - Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle (Grade 1)

My next ride on Friday is DANCING CITY in the Albert Bartlett. He was very good in the Grade One at the Dublin Racing Festival.

I think a reproduction of that form could see him in the mix, Readin Tommy Wrong will be on a lot of short lists but fingers crossed we might be able to outstay him.

16:50 - Mrs Paddy Power Mares' Chase (Grade 2)

My final ride of the 2024 Cheltenham Festival is INSIST in the Mares’ Chase. She’s got a nice chance, hopefully back up to a trip that suits her, Naas was just a bit sharp the last day and she didn’t jump through the middle part of the race.

With a bit of luck, she’s beaten Allegorie De Vassy before and who knows if Dinoblue will stay.
