Nicky Henderson is certainly well versed in training National Hunt winners, as his four triumphs at the most recent Cheltenham Festival show. With wins at Royal Ascot and a Cesarewitch success also to his name, the Seven Barrows man knows a thing or two about winning on the level too. We caught up with the six-time Champion Trainer to find out who makes his Ten to Follow stable.
Nicky Henderson's Tote Ten to Follow:
English King - 3yo - Ed Walker - B E Nielsen
Very impressive in Lingfield Derby Trial and it would be great for Lambourn to have a Derby winner.
Frankly Darling - 3yo - John Gosden - A E Oppenheimer
Looked equally impressive in her trial and my idea of the Oaks winner.
Logician - 4yo - John Gosden - K Abdullah
Looked a smart stayer last year winning the Leger in fine style and could be a serious candidate for the Cup races against stable companion Stradivarius.
Wichita - 3yo - A P O'Brien - Derrick Smith & Mrs John Magnier & Michael Tabor
Ran well in the 2000 Guineas and will, no doubt, be placed to good effect by his astute trainer.
Dashing Willoughby - 4yo - Andrew Balding - Mick and Janice Mariscotti
Beat a useful field in the Listed race at Newmarket on Guineas weekend and looks a future Group race winner over staying trips.
Land Of Oz - 4yo - Sir Mark Prescott Bt - John Brown & Megan Dennis
Was a progressive three-year-old last year and can probably be forgiven for his Cesarewich defeat. He could develop into a black-type performer this season.
Khaadem - 4yo - Charles Hills - Hamdan Al Maktoum
Has apparently done well over the winter from 3 to 4 and I look forward to seeing him out next week at Royal Ascot.
Battaash - 6yo - Charles Hills - Hamdan Al Maktoum
Battaash may have his work cut out with Khaadem this season but as they are both owned by the same owner they will likely be kept apart as much as possible.
Siskin - 3yo - G M Lyons - K Abdullah
It will be exciting to see how he has developed over the winter as he was such a good 2yo for Ger Lyons last year.
Ghaiyyath - 5yo - Charlie Appleby - Godolphin
He was very impressive when winning the Coronation Cup in course record time and Enable may have her work cut out to beat him this year.
