Tom is bound for Newbury on Saturday and he’s given us his thoughts on four of his best chances…

13:50 Newbury, Listed Steventon Stakes

I start my day with AL AASY. He's obviously a top class horse that's performed in group one company. He's not got his elusive group one yet, but has only gone down by a narrow margin in the Coronation a couple of years ago to Pyledriver, who obviously went and won a King George - a top class group one horse.

So his form does mix it with the best of them. He's not a straightforward ride. However, you have to ride him extremely cold and arrive with one run. So it'll be very interesting. Jim's actually chosen the 3yo of Shadwell's over him, which I suppose with the weight pull, probably kind of made his mind up for him.

Still, he's a horse that I'm looking forward to because he's obviously such a high level and the Shadwell horses are sort of hard to come by as good rides because they always have stable jockeys. So it's a nice one to have picked up.

15:00 Newbury, G3 Hackwood Stakes

Then onto LAKE FOREST. Obviously a group two winner at two, group one placed already this year with such a massive run at Ascot. He's another one that's not 100% straightforward in that he needs to be given time in his race and warm up into it and hopefully we'll get the pace to aim at.

Any sort of drying out of the ground is going to help. Obviously it's been belting hot this week so hopefully it'll do that and we'll be on rattling ground on Saturday and he'll absolutely love it.

15:35 Newbury, Super Sprint

MISS COLLADA looks an extremely sort of tough and racy filly for Richard Hannon. She's obviously a winner on her last start and she's the right sort of profile going to this race, she's not got much weight on her back and obviously the yard have a great record in this race.

I'm drawn over towards the stand side which should hopefully be a help as it sometimes is at Newbury and yeah hopefully doing the light weight will be worthwhile.

17:20 Newbury, Premier Fillies' Handicap

And then my final ride is SUNFALL. She won really nice at Sandown. She's a filly that I think quite a lot of. She did get beat around Chester but obviously it's such a unique track I thought I'd forgive her of that.

Back on to a straight track, I'm hopeful she can show that she has got a bit more class up her sleeve and carry on improving.
