Situated on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne just a stone’s throw from ParisLongchamp, Auteuil is France’s principal jumps track, open since 1873. The course is home to all of France’s Grade 1s over obstacles including the Grade Steeplechase de Paris, the most prestigious of them all, a race won six times by legendary trainer Guillarme Macaire.
The track itself is a flat, figure of eight circuit, with bush hurdles and a range of fences stretching across the track. Ground conditions can often be testing, with soft ground, and worst usually the case even throughout the summer meetings held at Auteuil.
