About Enghien Racecourse

An unusual track layout means there are in fact 13 different chase courses at Enghien, Paris’s second jumps track. Opened in 1879, the venue’s various turf courses are generally galloping in nature, as they surround an all-weather trotting track in the meeting of the course.

The Grand Steeplechase D’Enghien is the biggest race of the year at the track, and is in fact the only Grade 1 or Grade 2 jumps race in France held away from Auteuil. With more forgiving fences than it’s Parisien neighbour, Enghien is the ideal track to land a Graded success with a horse who might not be as reliable in the jumping department.
