About Laytown Racecourse

A truly unique racecourse, Laytown holds just one meeting a year, every September on the sand of the County Meath seafront, with contests run on the straight seven furlong track on the beach since 1868. Facilities are scarce, but that doesn’t stop the crowds forming on Laytown beach for this special card every year.

Claiming jockeys seem to do well on the day, with all six races in 2019 going to the way of claimers. It could be a good card to spot a star jockey of the future.
