Fifteen race meetings are held at Salisbury Racecourse throughout the year. The track itself is situated just three miles south of the city and is known for its stunning views at every spot of the course. The viewing areas overlook the stunning Salisbury and South Wiltshire Golf Courses as well at Salisbury Cathedral.
Unlike the majority of racecourses, Salisbury is not a loop. In fact it is one very long straight with an additional two-furlonged oval that rejoins the racecourse proper to allow races over one mile to take place. There are two Group 3 races that take place at Salisbury, the Sovereign Stakes in August and the Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes in September.
