Racecards
Queens Carriage
Racecard

Kevin Coleman doesn’t send too many over to the UK so, when he does, it’s worth paying attention. Queens Carriage ended last season with two decent wins at Dundalk before scoring on her reappearance at Fairyhouse. She just did enough that day to win on the bob, beating a subsequent winner in the process. Being by Mehmas, you would expect her to improve for a bit of quicker ground and the way she skips across the top of the turf would also suggest that’s the case. She gets a handy 7lb fillies allowance here, which sees her come out best at the weights and we can expect a bold run.

Really you want to be ridden handily over Sandown’s galloping mile and one who can get to the front is Rhubarb Bikini. He’s yet to get off the mark since joining Michael Attwater’s yard, but has put in a couple of creditable performances on the all-weather over the spring, posting two RPRs of 87. Contesting this off 82, he’s arguably well-treated then. He was disappointing on his reappearance at Lingfield, where he just didn’t run his race, but he may well have needed that and could be the each-way play here.

King Of Clubs
Racecard

We’re struggling to get away from the Hughie Morrison runner here. He took a big step forward when going down a short head to Sir Rumi at Nottingham on his penultimate start. That winner has since gone on to win nicely off a mark of 89, giving the form a nice look. Morrison’s runner followed that performance up with a five length victory at the same track, winning going away. The handicapper’s 3lb rise here looks like a lenient one and he could well land the double here. Ryan Moore takes over this time round and there’s not many more capable of the assignment.

Betty Crean L A
Racecard

The form of this one’s half length fourth on debut has worked out pretty well, with both the first and third since finishing second in Listed races since. She failed to build on that promise at Salisbury last time out but the soft ground possibly just went against her. David Menuisier recruits Ryan Moore and the pair have had three winners and a further two places from eight runners over the last year. Poet Of Life, representing the Gosdens, could be the main danger here and it’s worth a market check before the race. He could be the Exacta play.

About Sandown Racecourse

About Sandown Park

One of the south-east’s premier courses, Sandown hosts Group and Grade 1s on the flat and over the obstacles. A who’s who of flat racing legends have landed the venue’s feature race on the flat, the Eclipse Stakes. Dancing Brave, Giants Causeway, Sea The Stars and Enable are just some of the stars to have landed the 10 furlong contest.

The climb up Sandown’s home straight can often find out non-stayers, while it’s railway fences are some of the most formidable obstacles over the jumps course.
